How Justin Bieber was Discovered

At this point in time most people have heard of the young singer Justin Bieber. He is one of today’s biggest acts in the music business with two platinum albums under his belt. As record sells continue to decline for most artist, Justin continues to move units. He’s worked with such legends as Usher, Ludacris and Lionel Richie just to name a few. The sixteen year old Bieber continues to record and tour the globe over. Although the young Canadian singer is currently on top of the world, his beginnings are a lot more humble.

Justin’s introduction to the music business actually happened by chance. After posting a video of himself on Youtube for friends and family to see, others took notice. The others turned out to be millions of people who viewed his videos. Soon, his videos caught the attention of the producers of the popular daytime talk show Maury. After Justin’s mom turned down an invitation to audition to appear on the show he received a greeting from his now manager, Scooter Braun. According to Justin his mother was very uneasy about him entering into the music business. After all, she was just a single parent trying to shield her child from the evils of the music business. Scooter as he is called invited Justin and his family out to Atlanta free of charge for a meeting. This meeting led to Justin being introduced to Justin Timberlake and Usher some time later. In fact, both artist initially wanted to sign the young Justin. He went with Usher though who got him his first record deal on the legendary Island Def Jam Records, home to such artist as Kanye West, Rick Ross and Sum 41.

With a proven record label on his side, Scooter Brun as his manager and co-signs from music industry veterans, Justin Bieber was on his way. He began doing photo shoots, videos, interviews and shows that have catapulted him into mega stardom.  His first big hit song “One time” was actually his first single released in late 2009. Since then the single has gone on to chart in over thirty different countries. Justin’s discovery is quite interesting and very rare and it all started online.
